Setting Up Venues and Scheduling
How to add venues, configure time slots, and let Pitch Planner automatically schedule your matches.
Pitch Planner can automatically assign your matches to venues and time slots. Here’s how to set it up.
Adding venues
- Open your tournament and go to the Venues tab
- Click Add Venue
- Enter the venue name (e.g. “Main Pitch”, “Field B”) and an optional location
- Set the venue’s available days (e.g. Saturdays only)
- Set the time window — the earliest and latest a match can start at this venue
You can add as many venues as you need. Each venue can have its own availability schedule.
Schedule settings
Under Schedule Settings, configure:
- Start date — the first day matches can be played
- Match frequency — how many days between rounds (e.g. every 7 days for a weekly league)
- Max matches per day — limits how many games are played in a single day to avoid over-scheduling
- Rest days — minimum days a team must rest between games
Generating the schedule
Once your venues and settings are configured, click Generate Schedule. Pitch Planner will automatically:
- Distribute matches across your venues
- Respect venue availability windows
- Apply rest day and max-per-day constraints
- Assign start times within each venue’s time window
Manual adjustments
After generating the schedule, you can edit individual matches to change the venue, date, or time. The schedule generator gives you a good starting point — fine-tune from there.
Tips
- If you only have one venue, set it to available on all your match days
- You can regenerate the schedule at any time — it won’t affect results you’ve already entered
- If the scheduler can’t fit all matches within your constraints, it will place unscheduled matches at the end — you can then assign them manually
