We grew up in youth soccer and later coached inside it. We have watched teams abandon their whole plan after one rough scoreline, shorten the bench the moment the game gets tight, or stop letting players try new roles because a parent is worried about the league table.
Winning matters. It just cannot be the operating system for youth soccer. Rec coaches need real support, clubs should not be rebuilding basic technique at 9v9, and an hour of scrimmaging is not a training plan.
